As one of the top Canadian mushroom producers in the province of Quebec - we take great care in our mushroom production

Founded in 2003, Champag is a Canadian mushroom family-farm and a leading cultivator in the province of Quebec. The farm's location was specifically chosen to ensure that our mushrooms arrive fresh at grocery stores, ready to be enjoyed by households all over the southern parts of Quebec and across the northeastern parts of the United States. In addition to being local, Champag stands out for its use of modern and innovative techniques in mushroom production, growth and packaging of mushrooms.
Every mushroom matters – from every sprout we grow to the ones on your plate – they all connect for the good of our planet
At Champag we take pride and care in our organic mushroom farming. Much like the sophisticated network of mushrooms, our whole cultivation process is intricately tied together to deliver a superior quality mushroom crop. We are committed to local agriculture and adhering to high standards of ethical, environmental, and quality practices. Through this commitment we have achieved the following 4 certifications:
1)

2)

Cultivation is not just in our brand – it’s in everything we do
We grow both outdoor and hothouse mushrooms. Each of these growing methods provides consumers with year-round crops essential to their daily nutrition. Our outdoor mushrooms have a unique nutritional value, while our indoor-grown options possess a stable and nourishing composition. By selectively narrowing our distribution, we can guarantee the quality and safety of all our products are maintained fresh for your meal preparation. Today, the company is growing and supplies about 160,000 pounds of high-quality mushrooms per week, thus holding 12% of the mushroom market in the province.

Water conservation throughout all our production – reduce evaporation in our greenhouses; reuse our process water for our composting; tap into greywater

Sustainable ecological practices that promote soil biodiversity

Repurpose other agricultural byproducts for our own crop beds – straw, spent grain, stable bedding

Distribute our own nitrogen rich byproducts – SMS (spent mushroom substrate) – with the surrounding community to further soil improvement

Farming without synthetic pesticides to protect wildlife, like insects and fragile birds

We ensure all our buildings are modern and efficient to reduce our energy consumption, while tapping into renewable energy throughout all our production
